THEM OUTDOORS PLANTERS

In 2023, Tabi Gee, founder of Them Outdoors, commissioned us to create two designs for shell planters. We developed both with a garden theme: one inspired by seed pods, and the other based on trellis work. Mussel shells were used to create the linear elements, which were then backfilled with various ceriths and limpets. The shell selection emphasised the strong textural quality of both designs.

Weathering was also at the forefront of our thinking. Like many plants in the garden, the shells needed to be robust and hardy enough to withstand the elements.

Soon after the designs were completed, Them Outdoors collaborated with Kent Wildflowers and Fern to create a stand at the Chelsea Flower Show 2024, where it was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal.

We were honoured and delighted to be asked to display the shell planters at HOWE London, where they can currently be seen.
